Rhyolite Herald

Weekly Newspaper

The first edition of the "Rhyolite Herald" was May 5, 1905.

Published every Friday by Earl R. Clemens and Guy T. Keene. Clemens had entered into a newspaper partnership with Mr. Keene before coming to Rhyolite. Mr. Clemens purchased the equipment he would need to start a newspaper in the new camp of Rhyolite in Salt Lake City, Utah on his way to Nevada.

The beginnings of the Rhyolite Herald was published on a Vaughn Ideal Hand Cylinder Press, an 8 x 12 jobber, and a small paper cutter. The new paper had to be set entirely by hand.
